Kelly's Tavern-Kempsville
We found ourselves out in Chesapeake on a Sunday night, not a usual night to eat out for us. We were looking for:
1. An open restaurant
2. Not Sushi
3. Not Mexican
Someone said Kelly's, I think it was my daughter. We didn't really care, were not motivated for much else, and ended up at the Kelly's Tavern in Kempsville. A week after this event my husband summed it up succinctly by saying "probably the worst ever". Sure, I can laugh now but....
1. Our medium rare steaks were purple. Sent back.
2. Decided to eat the baked potato while waiting. It would not melt butter it was so cold. Didn't bother to send back.
3. Server's comments when I said the potato was cold? "Yeah I know! The kitchen can't seem to get them right."
This is Kelly's number two that has been horrible. (See our review of the Granby Street location)Only under severe duress will I step foot in any Kelly's location again. EVER! Could it be that I have already come upon a "worst of" 2010?!

This one is right down the street from my house and the only time I go in there is for drinks ... which are usually too strong.
Sad isn't it? It's close to my house too. I probably should have gotten a strong drink that night!
